Chaos continues to rock Uganda following the arrest of renowned opposition leader and presidential candidate, Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine was arrested at a campaign rally in the east of the country on Wednesday. The police bundled him into a van, claiming that he had drawn a crowd larger than the 200 people recommended by the Electoral Commission, as a Coronavirus prevention measure.

So far, seven people have been reported dead and several others injured as protests to demand for his release continue.

Opposition presidential candidates have suspended their campaigns, calling for fellow contestants to be released.

Mr. Wine who has suffered multiple arrests says the time for change in Uganda is now.

He is challenging Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who has been President of Uganda since 1986.
