Crossdresser, Shakiro speaks up after weekend’s attack, assault

Popular Cameroonian crossdresser, Shakiro has expressed his disapointment and regret after he got physically assaulted in Douala by some youths over the weekend.

After being brought to the Ange Raphael Hospital in Douala for treatment following the assault, the crossdresser took to his social media accounts, expressing frustration.

“I will leave this country. God my strength. After jail, now comes hospitalization…” He wrote on Facebook.

The attack on Shakiro comes barely some weeks after he and another crossdresser, ‘Patricia’ were released from jail.

The pair was arrested and kept in detention for over 1 month on the charges of attempted homosexuality. The charges against them were however dropped and the two men released following an avalanche of advocacies from influencers and rights groups.
