Culture: Bamenda III council launches cultural festival

The Bamenda III council has presented committee members who are to be at the forefront of the first-ever cultural festival in the municipality.

The event dubbed Festival of Heritage, Arts and Culture is to run from November 26 to 28 and will have as objective to showcase the different cultural aspects of inhabitants of Bamenda III as well as promote social cohesion in the society.

The cosmopolitan nature of the Bamenda III council area attracts people from every cultural background that Cameroon can boast of.

It is because of this diversity that the Bamenda III council, under the leadership of Mayor Fonguh Cletus is organizing this cultural festival.

“If these people are present, it will be the best medium for us to valorise the culture”, Mayor Fongu Cletus said.

The population of Bamenda III has for the past few years seen their minds drift towards crisis and the cultural festival is an opportunity for them to change the narratives.

Meanwhile, registration has officially opened to residents of the municipality who wish to showcase different aspects of culture.
