A man has died in Obala, Center Region after he was stabbed to death by an unidentified assassin in front of his wife and daughter. The assailant has been arrested by the Gendarmes who have opened an investigation into the whole incident.
At least eight people have died in a road accident today in Manki, West Region. The accident involved a heavy-duty truck, colliding with a private vehicle. Many persons blamed it on overspeeding. The victims have been kept at the Foumban District Hospital mortuary.
The lifeless body of a baby was retrieved from a river in the Cité des Palmiers neighborhood in Douala. A search is underway for the mother of the baby who is believed to have dumped it.

A top official of water utility agency, CAMWATER in Bamenda is being held by separatist fighters who are demanding the sum of 10 million FCFA for his release. The separatists say the utility enterprise should also cease charging fees on public taps in the North West and South West Regions.

FECAFOOT Presidential hopeful has failed in his appeal to get incumbent FECAFOOT President Seidou Mbombo Njoya suspended from all football-related activities. The ethics commission of FECAFOOT rejected the appeal on grounds it had come in late. According to the regulations, all appeals were due to be sent 48 hours after the final list of candidates was published.
