At least six traditional rulers have been abducted by separatist fighters in Sop, in Bui Division, North West Region. The traditional rulers who were returning from Yaoundé after adhering to a summons by the Fon of Nso were accused of plotting against separatists in a meeting with the Fon.

The Senior Divisional Officer for Wouri Division has asked persons to collect abandoned corpses from public hospital mortuaries in the Division latest by December 29, 2021. Corpses not reclaimed before the deadline will be interred in a mass burial thereafter.

Residents of Chomba, in Bamenda, North West Region say four persons arrested by the military have not been accounted for, more than 3 weeks after their arrest. Amongst them is the quarter head, who was accused by the military of knowing the whereabouts of Ambazonian fighters.

At least six persons have been killed by Boko Haram terrorists in the Mayo Moskota, Far North Region of Cameroon in an attack. Many Cameroonians have escaped to the bushes amidst the attack from the terrorists.

The people of Oku in the Bui division have heightened preparations ahead of the enthronement of their new traditional ruler. Fon Ngum IV would be presented to the general public as part of a series of final traditional rites.

Event organizers and churches have raised concerns after a decision by the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako prohibiting “nocturnal” ceremonies. This, they say, would prohibit activities planned for the end of the year, including Christmas and New Year’s eve services.
