At least 4 persons have died in a car accident at Boumyebel, along the Yaoundé-Douala highway. Among the casualties were a 5-month-old baby and his mother. There were also several others injured in the accident who are now receiving treatment at the hospital.
Some travelers say they have been stuck on the Yaoundé-Douala highway. About five hours since leaving their destinations, many remain stuck. The road, reports say, was blocked following an accident today.

Three children have died in Kribi, South Region after a tree fell on their house. The children were asleep when the tragedy occurred on January 10, 2021. The fallen tree is said to have been on fire throughout the previous three days.
The government has allocated the sum of 31 billion FCFA to settle pending teachers’ salaries. The sum is part of a total 181 billion FCFA debt government owes secondary education teachers. An ad hoc committee had been set up to look into the issue.
Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh has reiterated his stance for a neutral third party to mediate the Anglophone crisis. Failure to seek appropriate solutions, he says, would see the armed conflict resurface in the years ahead in a more brutal way. After what was a fall in attendance at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations games, thousands showed up today in Garoua to watch Nigeria take on Egypt. Before the game, Egypt had flown in some 300 hundred fans to cheer their squad. Many had raised concerns as games in Douala, Yaounde and Bafousam witnessed very little fan attendance.
Many have taken to social media to call out Egyptian fans pictured standing on seats at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Garoua. They turned out to support their side in an AFCON game against Nigeria. Nigeria beat Egypt 1-0 in the game.
