The Secretary General of Cameroon’s National Assembly is currently on suspension. Hon. Gaston Komba was suspended by the National Assembly speaker, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie. It is suspected the official was suspended over mismanagement of funds.
Renowned activist, Feka Parchibel was laid to rest today in Mutengene, South West Region. Feka who too was a teacher and mother of one died in a December 23 car crash alongside friend and artist, Mbonjem Lesley. Lesly was buried weeks ago in the North West region.
Friends and loved ones of late Feka today made a donation of 600,000 FCFA for the education of her daughter. The sum was handed today at her funeral by representatives of My Media Prime TV and The Cock Republic.
Two suspected thieves have been arrested in the Moungo Division, Littoral Region by Gendarmes. The suspects are accused of assassinating two bike riders and making away with their bikes. They are yet to b formally charged.
The Governor of the Center Region, Nasseri Paul Bea has ordered for all relaxation spots in the region to own fire extinguishers and emergency exits. This order comes after the fire tragedy at the LIVS Nightclub in Yaounde that claimed the lives of over 16 Cameroonians. The official promised to carry out surprised checks to ensure the order is respected.
Multiple houses have been razed to ashes in Yaoundé in the Obili neighbourhood. The fire is said to have been caused by the explosion of a transformer. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident .
The Confederation of African Football says the Quarter Final game at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium between Egypt and Morocco will be delayed by an hour on Sunday. The match which is to be played at 5 pm will be moved to 6 pm, in the case of an eventual prolongation before the beginning of the next game which also will be at the same stadium.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon tomorrow face The Gambia in the quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations AFCON. The game will take place in the nation’s Economic capital, Douala at 5 PM local time.
