U.S. Congressmen and Senators have addressed a letter to their President asking him to designate “Temporary Protected Status,” TPS, or Deferred Enforcement Departure on Cameroonians in the U.S. They cited the socio-political unrest in Cameroon’s restive Anglophone Regions, noting that the decision “will save thousands from deportation.” Read more on http://www.mimimefoinfo.com





At least 10,000 contraband mobile phones have been impounded by Customs officers in Garoua, North Region of Cameroon. The goods were seized on transit to Ngaoundéré in the Adamawa Region.




Residents of Bomaka and Mile 17 neighborhoods in Buea have complained of a prolonged blackout in the area. Bomaka and Mile 17 are situated kilometres away from the town of Buea. Locals there say they have gone for days without electricity, following the explosion of a transformer in the area. The Electricity Supply Company, ENEO not yet reacted.




Two suspected bandits gunned down in Fundong SubDivision, North West Region by the military have been identified. The duo, Collins and Alain, according to authorities, are were reportedly posing a serious threat, to locals in the neighborhood.





The University of Bamenda community has called on the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Regional Development to integrate the University’s development challenges into the national development strategy. The appeal was made on Wednesday in Bamenda during the maiden visit of the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Regional Development, Paul Tasong to the institution.





The Fon of Nkwen, community leaders, and quarter heads, have endorsed the Bamenda 3 festival of heritage and cultures, which would hold from 26-28 November. The took the commitment today during a meeting at the Bamenda 3 council premises.
