The Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh today visited the South West Region for the first time, since the start of the Anglophone conflict. He visited to Limbe and Buea — as part of a nationwide tour of infrastructures, ahead of the African Cup of Nations, to be hosted by Cameroon. Ngoh Ngoh also held private meetings with religious and other officials.




Late Tambe Ashu Thomas, a Kumba-based taxi driver who was killed weeks ago was buried today. Tambe Ashu was shot in front of a Gendarmerie checkpoint in Tinto, SWR. Reports say government soldiers were responsible.





Cameroonians applying for international passports have complained that there is very little information about the production of old passports. They say the introduction of the biometric system has diverted attention from the former system to the new — leaving former applicants unattended to.





Renowned Cameroonian artist, Mr. Leo has announced the creation of his “Lion of Africa Music and Arts Academy”. The initiative is aimed at identifying, assisting and developing personal, practical and technical skills of children and youths with exceptional potentials.




A couple in Dschang have died in a road accident. The duo had left their place of work place together and boarded a bike, which was reportedly involved in an accident. The bike was knocked over by a moving trailer as it tried to overtake the moving truck. The couple died on the spot.





The deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of internal control at the University of Bamenda has called on the entire University community to ve focused. He also prescribed effective teaching and learning in class. He was speaking on Thursday, during an orientation ceremony on campus. At the event, he denied reports of strike action by irate lecturers, saying the latter’s worries were misinterpreted by the public.




There is euphoria in Bamenda after the controversial ban on the circulation of motor bikes was lifted. The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Mezam signed a prefectural decision, instructing bike riders to fulfill certain conditions before plying the road.
