A Separatist faction, SOCADEF in a statement today said its forces killed nine government soldiers in Ikiliwindi, South West Region of Cameroon. MMI gathered reports of how an armored car and two military pick-up trucks were also blown off by Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs planted by the fighters, in the October 20, 2021 attack. There has been an influx of people into Boyo Division in Cameroon’s North West Region from Mbessa as the hunt for self-styled Separatist ‘General’ No Pity continues. Reports of military-conducted arson and violence have forced many including women and children to move into mainland Boyo for safety.

A 12-year-old girl called Miranda has died under unclear circumstances in Galim, Bamboutos Division in Cameroon’s West Region. The girl is believed to have lost her life after eating a loaf of bread and chocolate given to her by a barber. Autopsy reports show she was “not poisoned” though investigations continue.




An agreement has been signed by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, and Cameroon for the hosting of the African Cup of Nations. The agreement was signed today at the Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex by the President of FECAFOOT and CAF representatives. This puts to rest, concerns over Cameroon’s right to host the continental event — over lack of adequate facilities.




The first-ever Ph.D. thesis in the department of English at the University of Bamenda was been defended on Friday. Studying the works of American and British female writers, the candidate, Emmerencia Beh Sih, said her work captures certain social, cultural & political vices that need to be addressed in society.
