he impasse between sanitation company, Hysacam workers, and officials is yet to be settled. For nearly a week now, the workers have stood their ground demanding the payment of their salaries. As a result, garbage heaps are now littered across Yaounde, Douala, Buea and other major cities.



Many have expressed concerns that the ongoing strike action by Hysacam workers could pose serious health challenges for citizens. With most streets and dumpsites nationwide overwhelmed with garbage, the situation may have far-reaching health consequences, experts say.




The National Agency for Information and Communication Technology (ANTIC) is hosting a three-day training seminar on cyber security and the fight against cybercrimes. The event is organized for secondary schools and University ICT teachers in Cameroon’s North West region. The goal is to empower the trainees in the domain of cyber criminality.



The University of Yaounde I has been named among the top 1000 in the world. The institution ranked 940th among 1750 assessed worldwide and 30th on the continent. The metrics used for the said ranking included the research performance and reputation criteria.




A lady has cheated death after a mini-van ran into her house. The van transporting items from Cameroon crushed the house in the border locality of Ikom in Nigeria’s Cross River State. Luckily, no life was lost.



Public Health Minister, Dr Manaouda today received biomedical and personal protective equipment, equipment for blood banks. The items have been purchased as part of the national programme for the eradication of the Guinea worm.
