The city of Yaounde, Cameroon’s political capital, has two new police stations. The Mayor to the Yaounde City Council, Luc Atangana today handed over the keys of the two structures to the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele.


A workshop on the prevention of breast cancer has been organised by the French Embassy in Cameroon. It focused on the training of women on self examination and other early diagnosis/prevention tips. The workshop held today is part of commemoration activities for the month of October dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.

The health community and the world at large today commemorated world stroke day. Among others, experts warned against excess intake of sugar, salt and fatty foods inorder to avoid cardio-vascular diseases. Studies suggest one in four humans will at one point in their lives, have a stroke.

Authorities of the cities of Yaounde and Douala are yet to come to an agreement with striking sanitation workers. For a week, authorities have made no official comment on the workers’ overdue pay which ignited the strike action.


Cameroonian striker, Eric Ayuk, has signed a contract with Egyptian Division I side, Pharco FC. He is set to perform at the club for the next three seasons.


The official song of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON will be released tomorrow October 30th. Titled ‘we stand for Africa,’ the piece is performed by 25 singers from 24 nations partaking at the competition.
