Gunshots today engulfed the vicinities of Hospital Roundabout, City chemist and Mulang in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon. It is suspected Seperatists fighters engaged the military with random gun shots shortly after the Prime Minister addressed the region on the second day of his peace mission.
At least 12 alleged separatists today dropped their weapons in Bamenda. The group led by their leader, ‘General Scatter’ did so in the presence of the PM on the second day of his visit to the NW Region. Many have however questioned the authenticity of the display.
Guinness brand products have gone out of supply in Bamenda after the 3 weeks lockdown imposed by a faction of separatists. Loyalists of Guinness products are forced to drink other brands as they await the supply of their favourite drinks in the days ahead. The lockdown made it impossible for drinks to reach the town for weeks.
Two individuals in Yaoundé have been arrested for allegedly selling illicit drugs to secondary school students. They were caught in Nkomkana after the Gendarmes were alerted of their activities.
Cameroon’s President, H.E Paul Biya has designated Prime Minister Dr Joseph Dion Ngute to represent him at Sultan Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya’s funeral. The funeral is expected to take place on October 9, 2021.
The city of Ebolowa II has won the award for the cleanest municipality in Cameroon. The award was followed by a cash prize of 100 Million handed over by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Celestine Ketcha Courtes.
