The Cameroonian Army says it has noticed an intensity of firepower from separatist fighters in the North West Region of Cameroon. In a statement today, the army spokesman admitted over 15 soldiers had been killed in recent attacks by the separatists. It is estimated the statistics are more.
In Cameroon’s restive North West Region, residents of Ndop and neighboring villages say, they are scared of the unknown — with some fleeing the area. The frightened residents say a military raid is eminent in the division after separatist fighters ambushed armored cars killing 15 soldiers days ago. A three-week lockdown called by some Ambazonia diaspora leaders, dubbed ‘Gutteres lockdown’ has entered week two in the North-West region. Schools, businesses, movements have all been grounded. Breaks are observed only from Friday to Sunday.
