DO arrested for shooting lover to death

The Divisional Officer of Lokoundjé near Kribi of the South region has spent his first night in detention.

He is detained for allegedly shooting to death his lover.The incident happened early Saturday, July 25, 2020.

Franck Derlin Eyono Ebanga sources say was preparing for a trip to Douala with his partner when he let off his pistol.

The victim, Lydienne got shot in the neck, and later died a few minutes later, after being rushed to the Kribi District Hospital.

The SDO of the Ocean division as well as the state Prosecutor are said to have visited the scene of the unfortunate incident before Lydienne’s body, was placed in the Kribi District Hospital mortuary in the presence of her family.

The DO in his defense claims he mistakenly shot her while cleaning the weapon, but many question his word, noting that he and the girlfriend earlier had an argument.
