Donatus Njong
The former Mayor of the Northwest Region’s second largest town, Donatus Njong, has been made the new Secretary General of the Social Democratic Front party (SDF).
Donatus Njong, a one-time mayor of Kumbo, is replacing Maître Adeline Lord Djomgang, who has now been appointed a member of the cell of advisors.
The appointments are the first since Hon Joshua Osih was elected Chairman of the SDF on October 29 during the party’s national congress.
Osih defeated two other contestants to become the second national chairman of the party since its creation in 1990.
Donatus Njong, the new Secretary-General, is also the deputy coordinator of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction of the North West and South West Regions.
He comes into the SDF top job with broad experience in administration.
Analysts say the appointment of Njong also strikes a regional balance in the management of the SDF, as Chairman Osih is from the South West and Njong is from the North West.
