Douala: 49-year-old man stabs lover to death for allegedly duping him

A 49-year-old man named Djindom Benjamin, Saturday, April 8, stabbed to death his supposed lover Masiri Chantal for allegedly dubbing him.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon at Roi Bell Anciene Route, a neighborhood in Bonaberi, Douala.

The deceased Masiri died at the Douala Laquintinie Hospital where she was referred from the Bonassama District Hospital.

She was stabbed twice in the belly and on her vagina, reports say.

Shocking crowd at the hospital

Meanwhile, Djindom was arrested and detained by the Company Gendarmerie in Bonaberi, who saved him from the furious crowd that had gathered at the incident scene.

He reportedly confessed to the Gendarmes that he stabbed Masiri for squandering his money and running away, adding that it was time for her to pay back.

The incident disheartened Masiri’s family as well as sympathisers who thronged into the Bonassama District Hospital, in whose mortuary her corpse has been laid.

The 49-year-old Djindom Benjamin is said to be a security guard of Central African origin, while Masiri Chantal was a tailoring apprentice who hails from Tubouro in Cameroon’s Far North Region.
