Douala: 50-year-old man sentenced to 4 years imprisonment for raping 7-year-old daughter

A 50-year-old man by name Adalpu Adamou, has been sentenced to 4 years imprisonment after being found guilty of raping 7-year-old daughter in Douala, Littoral Region of Cameroon.

The sentence was passed at the Wouri High Court in Douala on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Reacting to this, renowned lawyer, Christian Bomo on his Facebook page expressed dissatisfaction vis-à-vis the 4 years sentence.

He wrote, “We are finally in which country? Mr. Ibrahim Adalpu Adamou, aged 50, is relieved. He has just received leniency from the court. He was sentenced to only 04 years in prison, while he raped a 07-year-old girl.”

“Yet the Cameroonian penal code in its article 296 punishes sentences of 05 to 10 years, the author of rape,” he disclosed.
