Kumba District Hospital upgraded to Regional Hospital Annex



The Kumba District Hospital in the South West Region of Cameroon has been upgraded to a Regional Hospital Annex.

The information was disclosed in a release signed by the public health Minister, Dr Manaouda Malachie on September 9, 2022.

In the release, the health minister indicated that the Kumba District Hospital, “is, from the date of signature of this decree, transformed into a Regional Annex Hospital, the following District Hospital.”


On May 29, 2022, the Kumba City Mayor, Grégory Mewanu solicited the transformation of the facility from a district hospital to a regional hospital, considering the geo-strategic position of Kumba.

He made the declaration during a visit to the construction site of the Kumba District Hospital’s Administrative Block.
