Douala: Animal Feed traders caught red-handed cheating customers

By David Atangana

Dealers in animal feed in Douala Littoral Region of Cameroon have been accused of engaging in fraudulent activities against customers.

A Douala-based customer who took time to capture a dealer on video told MMI that quantity of animal feed sold at exorbitant prices “is questionable.”

Some buyers who reach out to MMI say traders buy in wholesale and reduce the quantity before selling to normal customers.

“We found out that, When they buy, they unseal the bags and reduce a large quantity before sewing it back,” the customer lamented.

He went on to say that, “We do buy thinking that the quantity is the same not knowing that it been largely reduced already.”

According to the customers-mostly animal rearers, the situation is causing huge losses as huge money is wasted in feed.

“It affects me alot because I buy feed often,” he added.
