Douala: Citizens Arrested Without ID Cards Tortured at Mboppi Gendarmerie Brigade

A horrifying footage has been circulating on social media for days of civilians being subjected to unbearable torture at the Mboppi Gendarmerie Brigade.

Several media reports say the civilians being tortured behind a green door at the Gendarmerie legion, were arrested at Akwa 2 Eglise for non-possession of National ID Cards.

Many persons have suggested that the room where the civilians were being tortured, is the same room where a certain Jamil Mouliom died after being subjected to torture days before.

According to eyewitness testimonies, the civilians being tortured at the brigade were intercepted by the Gendarmes at about 8 pm as they waited for a taxi to take them home.

After failing to provide their ID cards and also denying to bribe their way out of it like the Gendarmes had suggested, they were taken into the truck and driven to the Gendarmerie, where they have been subjected to the worst kinds of torture.
