“This is confusion and administrative weakness on how to tackle coronavirus in the Littoral region” an inhabitant of Bonapriso, Douala exclaimed while reading a decision signed by the senior divisional officer of Wouri.

In the document, SDO Benjamine Mboutou on the instructions of the governor of the Littoral region suspends an earlier measure prohibiting drinking in all commercial places.

He however called on people in the division to respect measures put in place by the government.

Last week, the governor of the Littoral region Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboa issued a decision for people not to drink in bars and other drinking points to maintain social distancing and stop the spread of coronavirus.

By nullifying the decision that a greater number of people disrespected has left questions in the minds of many.

Has the administration given up the fight against social distancing?

The Littoral region has registered several cases of coronavirus second only to the Centre region. Over 650 cases have been tested positive nationwide.
