A group of Secondary school Part-time teachers from the Lyceé Bilingue de Bobongo Petit Paris, a village in Douala have come out against the school administration for withholding over 9 months of their salaries.
The reason for the salary block, MMI was told, is that these teachers reportedly did not teach at the school for the entire month of June.
The teachers of the institution say despite the several letters of complaints they have addressed to the school administration, none of them has ever been given positive feedback. It is further claimed that the authorities even vehemently refused to read some of the letters.
Unlike other Government schools which experienced the same scenario where teachers have not taught for an entire month but have received their full pay, the Principal of Lyceé Bilingue de Bobongo Petit Paris has denied to even discuss the situation with the agrieved parties.
“He wants to keep the money for himself. Money belonging to more than 90 part-time teachers” one of the teachers lashed out.
