Douala: Patients frustrated as government allocates five hospitals for COVID-19 patients only

Three patients have been denied access into Logbaba district hospital in Douala this morning April 6th. The reason is simple; government has allocated the hospital for the treatment of persons suffering from coronavirus only.

In a decision signed by the governor of the Littoral region Saturday April 04th 2020, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboa says besides the Logbaba district hospital, other hospitals to uniquely handle COVID 19 include the gynaco obstetric and pediatric hospital Yassa, Bonamousadi health centre ,Nkouloulou health centre and Laquintinie hospital.

These health centres and hospitals shall henceforth not receive patients suffering from other diseases except those infected by coronavirus.

At the weekend, patients from these hospitals were forced to transfer to other hospitals.
