Friday, April 26, marked a day of celebration and recognition at the Autonomous Port of Douala as 150 personnel were awarded medals of honor for their outstanding contributions to the port’s success. .

The ceremony, held at the Douala-Bonabéri port, was attended by top management, staff representatives, and distinguished guests.

Mrs. Motassi, representing the staff, expressed gratitude to the port’s leadership for the recognition, emphasizing the visible and tangible improvements witnessed at the port since 2016.

She noted that the dedication and hard work of the personnel have significantly contributed to the port’s growth and efficiency.

In his address, Director General Cyrus Ngo’o congratulated the awardees and commended them for their dedication and professionalism.

He highlighted the importance of recognizing the staff’s efforts while also acknowledging the challenges ahead, particularly in terms of competition as Douala faces the reality of no longer being the sole entry and exit point from Cameroon.

Ngo’o reminded the staff of the vision set forth by President Paul Biya, who envisioned the port of Douala as the reference port in the heart of the Gulf of Guinea.

He urged the staff to remain committed to excellence and to continue working towards making this vision a reality.
