Douala: Roadside Vendor cheats death as electric pole falls on business site

A roadside fruits vendor at the Sable neighborhood in Douala, Cameroon’s Littoral Region has cheated death after an electric pole fell on her business site last Thursday.

Reports say the vendor had briefly left her business premises to have a word with the neighbor, when the incident took place.

“She stepped out of her business site just one minute before the utility pole fell, no one saw this coming,” said a source.

Many have expressed shock, given that it was neither sunny nor windy when it happened.
