A property owner in Bonaberi, Douala is currently nursing wounds after he was brutalized by a tenant’s son.
Sources say the tenant’s rent had expired but she would not quit the residence nor pay for the months owed.
“They had not been paying rents for two years and he had taken the woman to the police to no avail and they have been in court for more than a year now,” a source tells MMI.
Neighbors allege that the lady in question has links within the police force that have been helping her evade compulsory payment of the rents, making the landlord more miserable in his attempts to seek justice.
Desperate to retrieve his money that stands at over half a million already, the house owner is said to have sought another method to get his tenant to comply.
The landlord, the source explains “had tried all means to remove the tenant from the house to no avail. This morning he decided to put the whole building down.”
“It was the woman’s son that wounded the landlord and this is the second time,” he adds.
It remains unclear what action the brutalized landlord will seek next.
