An element of the gendarmerie has been beaten to death at the premises of Finex travelling agency in Douala.

Witnesses say the incident happened between mid night and 3:00 am on Thursday July 23rd 2020.

According a worker in the travel agency “a fight erupted between people working at the toilet and the gendarme as he seemingly refused to pay 100 francs cfa after using the toilet.”

His colleague who attempted to rescue the victim was beaten to near death. He is receiving medical attention at the military hospital in Bonanjo Douala.

Alerted about the incident, hundreds of elements of the gendarmerie invaded FINEX traveling agency at a place called ‘Douche Municipal Akwa’ arresting all the workers and passengers.
