Driver escapes after three students perish, others injured in car accident in Yaounde

Atleast three students whose identities are yet to be established have died following a car accident in the Soa neighborhood in the Capital city, Yaounde.

Several others sustained injuries and have been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The driver reportedly survived and escaped, a witness told MMI.

The accident occured early Friday March 24, 2023.

Eyewitness accounts say the vehicle on high speed hit a pole which fell on them, instantly killing three and wounding several others.

“This accident occurred this morning on the Soa-Yaoundé road,” an eyewitness told MMI adding that: “The driver in question hit a pole at the road side which then fell on the car killing 3 students on the spot.”

At the time of this report, the driver was no where to be found.
