Dschang: Abandoned newborn baby discovered in gutter

An abandoned newborn baby has been discovered in a ditch in the Mimeto neighborhood, in Dschang, West Region of Cameroon.

The discovery was made on the morning of October 18, 2022.

The child said to be a male was approximately 3 hours old at the moment of its discovery.

In a release, the Senior Divisional Officer for the Menuoa division expressed dissatisfaction vis-à-vis the said act and urged, “… anyone with information concerning the parents of the said child to contact the Gendarmerie or the Central Police Station of the city of Dschang.”

The newborn baby was immediately rushed to a medical facility and is currently responding to treatment.
