A pregnant woman and her three children have perished in a fire outbreak in the locality of Ntiou, 28 km from Yokadouma, in the Eastern region.
The incident occurred on Saturday July 9, 2022.
The head of the family recently engaged in the sale of adulterated fuel, is said to have forgotten to close one of the containers after serving a customers.
Busy in his kitchen, his pregnant wife and his three children who were having fun not far from the fireplace but still in the house, unfortunately had no idea of the danger awaiting them.
The highly flammable fuel in contact with the heat later triggered a gigantic explosion causing a fire outbreak that cost the life of the pregnant woman, and the children.
Alerted, the neighbors sought to turn off the flames but were powerless.
The head of the family who tried to save his family was also burned, leaving him in a commatous state.
The house made of thatched roof and mud bricks was completely reduced to ashes by the raging flames.
