Edea: man electrocuted in attempt to play ‘Good Samaritan’

A man in his thirties, whose name MMI got simply as ‘Junior’, has died after climbing an electric pole in a bid to help his neighbors fix an electrical fault.

The unfortunate incident took place in Edea, Littoral Region of Cameroon on Sunday, June 5, 2022, in a quarter, popularly known as “Jamaïque.”

It is reported that the father of two climbed the electric pole to help neighbors who, due to an electric fault had been in darkness for the past few days, when he met his demise.

While some persons claim that Junior was found perched on the pole following an electric shock, other sources contradict this narrative by stating that the electric pole on which he was, fell down, leading to his death.

Junior leaves behind a wife and two children who have remained inconsolable following the tragic incident.
