A group of thugs are said to have been apprehended in Bertoua after robbing a woman in Edea, in the Sanaga Maritime, Litoral Region, of the sum of approximately 21 Million FCFA on August 7, 2021
The money collected from the woman in Edea is believed to be owned by a company which this woman is a part of as an employee.
As of today, at least 4 men believed to be part of the gang of robbers which robbed the money have been arrested in Bertoua in the Eastern Region by the police as they attempted to escape to Benin.
The Head of Division for the Eastern Judicial Police, Hervé Djomo who reviewed the case, revealed that the robbery was carried out with the aid of a company insider, given that the money was robbed on the day which the workers of the said company were expected to recieve their salaries.

Of the 21 Million FCFA taken away by the thugs, just 8 million FCFA has been recovered by the police, who believe more of the cash is with other members of the gang who have yet to be apprehended.
