The Cameroonian government is currently taking measures to reduce public vocational training costs to 50.000 FCFA.
The decision was one of the announcements made at the cabinet council meeting for the month of May chaired by the Prime Minister, and Head of government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute.
Issa Tchiroma Bakary acknowledged that vocational training in Cameroon is excessively expensive.
“The Head of State has agreed to the democratization of the cost of vocational training. The training centers where a year cost 400 thousand, 500 thousand or even more, the Head of State had decided that they should be reduced to 50,000 FCFA in the same way as in the universities”, he announced.
The Prime Minister chaired the work of this council of cabinets for the month of May yesterday, May 26, 2023, at the star building in Yaoundé.
The move is believed by many to go a long way in helping many Cameroonians to further their studies in vocational training Institutions.
