The Managing Director of the Community School Djichami, Ebenezer Ndong has requested support as he aims to foster education in his hometown.
The Djichami Community School, North West Region was created under his initiative, after talking it out with several parents in the village.
According to Mr. Ebenezer Ndong, it was generally agreed for the school to be established in its current site.
The new Institution, created in October 2021, currently has 57 pupils, and just over 3 permanent teachers, who are on a monthly salary of 20,000FCFA each.
To alleviate the financial burden on the school management, Mr. Ebenezer Ndong says they agreed in a PTA meeting for all pupils to play in a monthly amount of 500FCFA, in addition to their 28,500FCFA school fees.
The money is intended to pay for basic teaching materials like chalk and more, for the teachers. According to the Managing Director, this amount is still not enough to meet up the growing needs of the growing Institution.
Mr. Ebenezer Ndong told MMI, “We need help and support of every good Samaritan.” The fate of the school in Djichami is dependent on the external aid it gets as it struggles to foster education in the community.
