Ekondo Titi school attack leaves two teachers dead, students injured

At least two teachers have been killed and students injured in an attack in Ekondo Titi, a town in Cameroon’s South West Region this morning.

The primary target of the attackers, was Government Bilingual High School, GBHS Ekondo Titi where students had assembled for classes like every other day.

Unconfirmed sources claim other institutions in the town were also attacked subsequently.

Parents have since been rushing to school to get their kids and take them home.

MMI is yet to confirm the identity of the attackers, but pro-government and pro-separatist supporters have been quick to throw the blame on each other.

The attack comes shortly after two school kids were gunned down in Bamenda and Buea within less than a month, by security officers.

However, it also reflects similar attacks orchestrated by separatist fighters in different parts of the conflict-ridden Anglophone regions, as they seek to interrupt classes.

Administrative authorities of Ekondo Titi as well as officials of the concerned school(s) are yet to make any official remarks.
