A dilapidated electricity pole has struck down a makeshift shop in Street Two, a neighborhood in Dirty South, not far from the University of Buea.
The lady who owns the shop says although the pole fell today January 6, she had perceived the danger long ago but was helpless.
Speaking on the grounds of anonymity, the lady blamed the unfortunate incident on what she termed incompetence and carelessness on the part of the utility company.
Adding that these poles have been in very bad shape for a very long period, she regrets that repairs and replacements are always far-fetched.
The victim is a fruit and vegetable vendor from where she provides food, school fees, and health care for her family.
According to her, even though her building may appear not to be very costly to rebuild in the eyes of some people, rebuilding it will greatly weaken her business capacity which is already on life support.
