Electricity Supply Partially Reinstated in Kumbo -Mbiame Continues to Boil

Twenty-four hours after a report on this platform portrayed the difficulties of locals in at least five divisions hit by power outages, Kumbo residents have testified the restoration of electricity. They had been without power supply for several weeks.

But it is just a cosmetic solution as a greater part of the town is still in the dark.

Other Division like Boyo, Ngoketunjia, Menchum, Momo ( Batibo), Ndian, Kumba in Meme, and Lebialem are still deprived of electricity. Lebialem residents say they have been in the dark since April 2018.

ENEO, the energy supply company in Cameroon, revealed to Mimi Mefo Info that it it difficult for its technical team to be deployed on the ground due to security threats. They however said the were looking into the matter.

Meanwhile, calm is still to return to Mbiame in the Bui division following clashes between security forces and pro-independence fighters.

Soldiers succeeded to take the DO out of the area but Mbiame is a no-go zone, a source told Mimi Mefo Info.

“Mbiame is a no go zone…we were told military registered brutal casualties… And in Tatum this morning, there has been serious gunfight,” a source told Mimi Mefo Info.
