Elite One: Dynamo FC unbeaten after match day four

Dynamo FC of Douala is topping the chart of the MTN Elite One Championship at the end of match day four, with 10 points.

The Group A club is the only out of 19 teams participating at this year’s championship to have won three games so far.

The three-time Cameroon Cup winner has conceded no defeat, and has recorded three wins and a draw.

In its last game on Wednesday, the club thrashed PWD of Bamenda 2-0 to earn its third consecutive win.

Dynamo, however, started the Elite One with a 0-0 draw against AS Fortuna on October 4.

But it bounced back on day two with a 2-3 win over Astres. It proceeded to thrash Aigle Royal 2-1 on day three before the 2-0 victory over PWD of Bamenda.

Closely following Dynamo FC on the Elite One chart are Canon Sportive, Astres and Stade Renard, which have seven points each.

Stade Renard of Melong is topping Group B after playing just three games. Meanwhile, current Cameroon Cup champions, Fovu of Baham, are the group’s runners-up, with six points.

On the other hand, four clubs are yet to win a single game at the end of match day four.

Aigle Royal of Menoua has just one point, after three losses and one draw. Meanwhile, Yong Sport Academy and Colombe have two draws and a defeat, earning just two points each. Also, UMS of Loum has just two points in Group B after recording two draws.

Popular clubs like Coton Sport of Garoua are still struggling to gain stamina. Coton got its only win against Victoria United and has recorded two draws and the defeat.

The last three days of play have not been promising for Victoria United, which currently occupies the seventh position in Group B with just three points.

The Limbe-based club won its first game, but has recorded three straight losses afterwards.

Meanwhile, PWD of Bamenda, which also won its first game of the championship, has lost two games and drawn one. It has only amassed four points at the end of match day four.

Day five could be more competitive as many clubs will be seeking to right their wrongs.

Group B will open the play, with Victoria United facing Apajes of Mfou at the Limbe Centenary Stadium at 3pm.
