Energy Minister announces 5-day electricity disruption in Center, South Regions

Eloundou Essomba, Minister of Water and Energy has announced a 5-day electricity disruption period in the Center and South Regions of Cameroon.

In a release, the Minister of Water and Energy Gaston Eloundou Essomba informed the local population and economic operators of the Center and South Regions of the development.

He indicated that the supply of electrical energy will experience disruptions from November 12 to 16, 2022.

According to Eloundou Essomba, the disruption will be a result of a major work to connect the Memve’ele hydroelectric power plant to the South Interconnected Network (RIS)

This will be carried out at the Nkolkoumou substation during the above-mentioned period.

The Minister of Water and Energy equally urged all populations and economic operators to be patient and to have a good understanding of these inconveniences.

The situation has been strongly denounced by the Cameroonian consumer foundation. For the body, it is unacceptable that economic operators and the population are treated in this way “Meanwhile, Eneo Cameroon is making big profits and buying new vehicles every week from car dealers”.
