Popular Nigerian Music duo, Peter and Paul Okoye, AKA P Square today celebrated their 30th birthday. Unlike recent editions of their day marked by glaring demonstrations of how wide their rift had become, they showed each other some love today, suggesting their union is well on the path to recovery.
They both shared a photo of themselves on the social media app, Instagram. While Peter wrote “it is our birthday” with the image, Paul on his part tagged his brother and shared their image, captioning it “happy birthday to us.”
While the Okoye brothers are yet to make any official statement, fans’ hopes had been raised days ago when the artists followed each other on Instagram. A video of both artists hugging each other also made rounds on the internet around the same time.
In a video shared on Mr. P’s Instagram, they presented their manager, and made a shoutout to popular names like Davido, Dangote, Tony Elumelu. “we have started again…” one of them said, suggesting they were back as a music group once more.
Fans have since been expressing their joy as the four-year-long rift between the brothers is fast going down the drain.
P Square as the duo was known, was one of Africa’s most successful music groups years ago. Following their breakup resulting from a rift between them that is estimated to have started in 2015, both singers went their separate ways.
Paul went on doing music under the name Rudeboy, and his brother Peter, Mr. P.
To date, some of their tracks such as ‘Collabo’, ‘Shekini’, ‘Personally’, ‘Chop my Money’ and a host of others continue to make waves across the continent and beyond.
