President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o Fils, has encouraged the President of Victoria United football club to “stay focused” during trying times.
The club has encountered some difficulties at the start of this season of the Elite One Championship. Reports said the club had withdrawn prematurely from the competition after boycotting its home game against Apejes of Mfou last Saturday.
“Proud of the work you accomplish with your team. You will face challenges, but stay focused,” Eto’o wrote on his Facebook page.

The post was accompanied by pictures of him and the President of Victoria United, Nkwain Valentine.
Both officials reportedly met recently at a reconciliation meeting that involved other football stakeholders in the South West Region.
Among the attendees were the President of the South West Regional League, Valery Ndazeh; the League’s Vice President Fritz Ngeka Etoke; and the President of Continental FA Essa Pius Tabi.
The newly promoted Elite One club, Victoria United, was reported to have dropped out of the championship. However, the club made no official statement about the purported withdrawal.

The Limbe-based club has had a tough start at the championship, winning just one in four games, and suffering three straight defeats.
On match day five, which was last Saturday, Victoria United boycotted its home game against Apejes of Mfou, leaving fans desperately anxious.
Supporters have been encouraging the club to rejoin the 19-team championship, which has been briefly suspended.
FECAFOOT suspended the Elite One on October 25 to address some issues facing the championship.
