The Presidential candidate of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party, Prof. Maurice Kamto, began touring the streets of Yaoundé today to woo voters.
Kamto’s campaign trail pulled a stunning crowd in different Yaoundé neighbourhoods early today as they prepare for an announced grand rally starting 1pm.
Prof. Kamto will be unveiling his social and economic projects to the population at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium while his wife will be wooing voters at the Village neighbourhood in Douala 3.
Professor Kamto has joined Cabral Libii of UNIVERS Party to send words of encouragement to another presidential hopeful, Serge Espoir Matomba whose bus was involved in an accident in Meinganga on the outskirts of the Adamawa region early Saturday.
Serge Espoir Matomba in a release had said it was a deliberate attack from his detractors.
His mobile phone was seized on the campaign ground in the Centre region but recovered after security launch findings.
The incident has raised the issue of the security of opposition candidates which seems to be a neglected aspect of the electoral process in Cameroon.
