The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, (PCC) has issued an official reaction to the attack on and kidnapping of several women in Small Babanki, Tubah Subdivision, North West Region.

Separatists opened fire on a group of women who protested against the exorbitant levies imposed them by the fighters. A couple of them received serious injuries after they were shot by the fighters — while nearly one hundred others were kidnapped.

This horrific incident has sparked a wave of criticisms directed at the Separatists, who many think have deviated from their initial path.

The PCC has been categorical in its criticism of this attrocity, referring to it as a “… shameless act of crowned cowardice,”

A statement signed by the PCC moderator, Rev Fonki Samuel Forba has outrightly condemned the attrocity. “It is culturally and traditionally abominable to desecrate women.” The letter stated.

The PCC in the letter also requests for the immediate release of the women under Amba custody, and for the exorbitant levies to be scrapped.

“As a church, we preach against injustice and abuse of power by whosoever, so we cannot support a novel level of injustice and suffocation by those supposedly passing for liberators…” the PCC declared.
