North West Team Presidents Accused Of Acting Beggarly After Motion Of Support To Eto’o

By Soulemanu Buba

Some football lovers in Bamenda have lashed out at the North West Regional Bureau of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and other football actors for acting beggarly because of crumbs falling from the master’s table.

This was after a motion of support to the National President of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o Fils surfaced after a meeting that brought together Presidents of Regional, Divisional Leagues, Youth, and Female football at the FECAFOOT office in Bamenda, Friday, July 7, 2023

During the meeting, football stakeholders condemned what they described as Henry Njalla Quans, former FECAFOOT 4th national Vice President’s unruly outings.

They said he neither consulted them nor paid an official visit to the North West Region after the elections.

While pledging their unflinching support to Samuel Eto’o, the football actors also expressed the wish to receive him in Bamenda.

The move by the football promoters has been received with mixed feelings with many blasting them for being too desperate.

Talking to MIMI, Abongwa, a football lover in Bamenda said those who signed the motion of support have simply exposed how desperate and beggarly they are.

“You see why hungry-looking people should not be involved in football matters? They don’t even have a say of their own. They are only acting beggarly for their names to enter the good books of Samuel Eto’o. Njalla Quan Jr. was the 4th vice president of FECAFOOT and they are happy. Is
that all that Anglophones can get? What a shame,” said Abongwa.

He further indicated that football actors in the two Anglophone Regions of Cameroon should stand for what is right and not for their stomachs.

Despite having four football teams in the professional league last season, football stadiums in the region are still begging for salvation with no football pitch resembling where professional matches are played.

All the promises to provide the region with stadiums from past and present FECAFOOT executives have not yielded any fruits as games are still being played on borrowed pitches like the University of Bamenda school field.
