“You Will Never Walk Alone” was the statement from the president of the Fako Lawyers Association, FAKLA president, Senior Barrister Benjamin Enow Agbor to the entirety of lawyers belonging to the association.

The FAKLA president made the statement this morning following the release of a fellow colleague who was arrested and detained by the forces of law and order while on his line of duty.

The president in his statement was thankful for all who made sure the lawyer in detention was released despite the efforts by some authorities to thwart their mission, indicating that the demonstration and determination in spite of their differences were what made them unique and will continue to stand for each other.

“Permit me to heartily thank all of you for the wonderful show of solidarity that we all demonstrated in the past 48 hours as we stood to ensure that our colleague is released from detention. The past 48 hours have demonstrated that in spite of our diverse opinions and affiliations, when push comes to shove, we can summon the best in us to serve our corp. we have shown to the world that lawyers in Fako division WILL NEVER WALK ALONE# YNWA. I also salute all those who made it to the emergency meeting which they tactically attempted to thwart. But we also beat them there also. Our resilience yesterday was unsurpassed. May God continues to bless all of you and your families” stated the FAKLA president following the release of Barrister Ayukontang Ndep Nkongho.

Barrister Ayukontang was arrested on Tuesday evening by elements of the gendarmerie for reportedly taking pictures of his client in a hospital in Limbe, who is said to have been shot by the Cameroon military.
