Lydienne Solange ‘s family demands justice for her murder

The family of Lydienne Solange Taba is calling for the prosecution of the Divisional Officer of Lokoundje sub-division in the South region of Cameroon, Frank Derlin Eyono Ebanga.

Expressing grief and pain during the removal of the 23-year-old student’s body in Kribi this Friday, August 28th, the family alleges that their daughter was fatally shot by Frank Derlin Eyono Ebanga, the Divisional Officer of Lokoundje sub-division, on July 25th, 2020.

A relative states, “The Divisional Officer must face justice and go to prison for taking a fellow human being’s life. We don’t care if he holds authority in Cameroon; he has to face justice.”

According to the family, the presumed murderer, the Divisional Officer, was briefly detained, released, and is now resuming his administrative duties without hindrance. This claim, however, cannot be independently confirmed by Mimi Mefo Info at the moment. He had however, argued that the incident was an unfortunate accident as his gun discharged while he was cleaning it.

The funeral service for Lydienne Solange Taba will take place in her native Muanko village in the Littoral region on Saturday, August 29th.

This is a developing story and MMI will be bringing more updates as they happen.
