Boko Haram militants in the Far North have reportedly killed a truck driver during an attack on a covoy of trucks yesterday.
The deceased truck driver, Youssoufa, in his fifties, is from Ngoundere and is a father of several children.
The attack took place at about 8:30pm in the locality of Dabanga, 5km from the Dabanga military base.
The attack sent several drivers fleeing into nearby bushes, abandoning their trucks.
Security forces intervened but failed to intercept the attackers who had escaped after the act.
Most the truck drivers are yet to return to the scene of the incident as their trucks are still abandoned at the incident’s scene, according to reports.
