A traditional ruler in Guindiguina, a locality in the Far North Region has been arrested for possessing Indian hemp.
The Indian hemp was discovered following a raid by the Gendarmerie elements on the night of November 5 to 6, 2022. A large stock of 60 Kilograms of Indian hemp was discovered in his care during the operation.
“The evidence indicates that the alleged trafficker, aged about 60, is a 3rd degree traditional ruler in this area. He is also said to be one of the main drug suppliers of kidnappers and drug users in the Mayo-Oulo clan,” disclosed The National Gendarmerie on their official Facebook page.
Latest reports have it that the alleged trafficker on November 9, 2022, was brought before the State Counsel at the Guider Court of First Instance.
