Two Die, Two Injured in Fatal Bike Accident in Bamenda

A tragic road accident along the Bamenda Upstation slope on Sunday night, October 19, 2025, has claimed the lives of two young men identified as Hali and Abba.

According to family sources, the victims succumbed to their injuries early Monday morning at the Bamenda Regional hospital, where they had been rushed alongside two other companions who are currently receiving medical treatment.

Eyewitnesses say the four were riding on a motorbike when the accident occurred around 9 p.m. The exact cause of the crash remains unclear, though residents point to the steep nature of the slope, poor road lighting, and overload as possible contributing factors.

Hali and Abba were laid to rest later on Monday in strict Muslim tradition, just hours after their passing.

The Upstation slope, one of Bamenda’s busiest routes linking the city center to administrative quarters, has recorded several accidents in recent months, raising fresh concerns over road safety and the need for better traffic management in the area.
